I've started another technology class that helps the educator become more connected with technology through various online tools! My last class focused on using Google specific tools, which was awesome. Many of those tools you can check out under any posts made from August to October. I will be blogging about the tools, tips, and tricks I learn from this class!
One of the first assignments for this class was finding educational blogs that we liked. We needed to find four that we liked and explain why we chose them and who they would benefit. I chose the four blogs below, so click on the picture to check them out! The Teaching blog addict is an awesome educational blog that allows you to check out blogs that are specific to your grade level or specialty. I actually used the Teaching blog addict to find the other blogs I liked!
After we stifled through blogs and chose our favorites we learned about how to save our favorites in one location! I usually "save" the blogs I like under my Pinterest account by just pinning what I like. I really have never searched the web for first grade specific blogs, so this experience was a first for me! However, when I was choosing my blogs of choice I was thinking, "how am I going to keep track of these even if I do like them?". I mean I know you can follow them, but there are about 20 different ways you can "follow" a blog, which I thought was overwhelming. That led us to this awesome online tool called Feedly.
Feedly is a free easy reader for blogs! You can just type in what you're looking for and they'll have some categories pop up for you, or you can copy and paste a blog's URL into the search bar and then save it under a specific category that you want it in. In fact, when I was writing this post I opened my Feedly account up so that I could click on my blogs and link them up to the blog titles above. It's a SUPER easy way to keep track of all the different blogs you like.
After I found my blogs I added Feedly to my Google Apps, so again I can make it easier on myself to find the blogs I love. I REALLY recommend getting a Feedly account (with your Google account) if you are a big blog follower! I will definitely become more of a blog lover because of this awesome tool! I added a couple of tutorials below to help you figure Feedly out.
I hope you enjoyed my newest technology post!
